If time and money were no object, what would you be doing right now? How would you spend your days-and nights? Doing what? Where? With whom?
Write down your response. Take good care of that description. You see, those words form the foundation for discovering your Life's Purpose.
Why do you want to know your Life's Purpose? Well, once you reach middle age you begin to ask questions about why you are here and what your life is all about. Good questions to ask. More important, those are questions for which you really need the answers to give your life meaning.
Everyone comes here to fulfill some purpose, some piece of the infinite puzzle of life. What is your unique function in the world of humankind? How does your existence contribute to the betterment of people and or the planet?
A Life Purpose doesn't need to be some earth shaking contribution that changes the world. Just make a difference for one person and you contributed something of unmatched value. Yes, one simple act that impacts just one person or the planet makes a difference for everyone and everything.
Remember, we are all connected. You cannot do anything without affecting and being affected by everyone and everything.
Okay, so you figured out what you came here to do. Now what? Well, maybe you are not yet ready to completely fulfill your purpose. However you can live every moment of your life in alignment with your purpose.
Maybe you came here to bring joy to others. When you walk down the street you smile and greet people. So many people look away when they approach another person on the street. Maybe your smile and greeting is the only smile and greeting some individual will see all day-or even all week. Just maybe you smiled at a person who felt invisible and worthless.
In your work, no matter what line of work you start out doing-you can bring joy to your work place. Your joy will be infectious. Others will feel better just because you are living in the energy of bringing joy to others.
As time goes by you may change jobs and even careers until you find yourself working some place where you get to do what you love to do-your job is actually to bring joy to others.
You see, when you spend your life living your Life Purpose, you fulfill your mission every day-not just when you finally arrive at the position and career of your dreams. You live your dreams all along the way. You get to enjoy the journey not just your arrival at the final destination.
